Adjunct Life - Or, Do I Get a Stapler Too?

Introduction
There are many challenges you will face or are facing as an adjunct faculty member, from access to the resources often taken for granted by full-time tenured faculty to just having a place to hang your umbrella. Though a hassle, most of these challenges are not insurmountable.  It may take additional planning and some assertiveness on your part, but you too can "get a stapler."

This handbook will help guide you through some of those challenges and offer suggestions taking steps to resolve or "head them off" before they become insurmountable.

We will deal with the typical issues of assignments and textbooks, etc. but from the viewpoint of an adjunct.

There are short polls in some of the sections. Replying to them will help us in subsequent edits of this handbook, so we thank you for taking the few minutes it will take to complete them in advance.
